- Undergraduate students (current students) of Kanazawa University *Eligibility is limited to students for whom "Practical English I–IV" or "TOEIC Preparation I–IV" are required courses, and who have either completed or are currently taking these courses.
Event Details
Students aiming to strengthen their English skills, boost their TOEIC scores, or prepare for graduate school or overseas studies are encouraged to participate in the Vocabulary Contest!
■ Assigned Textbook: "TOEIC L&R TEST: Essential Vocabulary – Gold Phrase"
Published by Asahi Shimbun Publications (?890 + tax)
* 80% of the questions will be from this vocabulary book. It is available at the Co-op.
■ Examination format: 50 minutes, approximately 100 questions, multiple choice (4 options)
* Fill-in-the-blank questions, questions on definitions, synonyms, and antonyms, among others.
■ Prizes and participation prizes: (The award ceremony will take place after the test, and participation prizes will be handed out following the ceremony.)
- Prizes (QUO cards): [1st place] ?10,000 worth, [2nd place] ?7,000 worth, [3rd place] ?5,000 worth, [Honorable Mentions] ?2,000 - ?3,000 worth
* In the event of a tie, prize amounts may be adjusted. The number of award recipients will be determined based on the total number of participants.
* Students who placed 1st to 3rd in previous years are considered "Hall of Fame" members and are not eligible for awards this time.
- Special participation prize: A QUO card worth ?1,000 (20 recipients) or a gift voucher for "HonwaCafe" (20 recipients)
* Regardless of test performance, a total of 40 participants will have a chance to receive one of the special participation prizes through a random drawing.
* Participants who are not selected in the drawing will receive a small consolation gift.
