Kickoff Symposium Held for the Inter-University Exchange Project: “Program for Human Resource Development Leading Mathematical and Physical Sciences for the Development of Advanced Science in Japan and EU Countries”

On March 18, the kickoff symposium for the Inter-University Exchange Project titled “Program for Human Resource Development Leading Mathematical and Physical Sciences for the Development of Advanced Science in Japan and EU Countries” was held both in person and online. A total of 70 participants, including students from the Mathematical and Physical Sciences course as well as attendees from Japan and abroad, took part in the event.

The symposium was began with opening remarks by President Takashi Wada, followed by an overview of the project presented by Vice President and Project Leader Noriko Hasebe. Professor Masato Kimura, Advisor to the President, then provided an explanation of the exchange program, and faculty members introduced the partner universities involved in the project. ??

We were honored to welcome Professor Michal Benes from Czech Technical University and Professor Adrian Muntean from Karlstad University (Sweden), who kindly shared insights about the strengths and appeal of their respective institutions. Additionally, alumni of our university shared their study abroad experiences. The symposium concluded with closing remarks by Trustee Akiharu Morimoto.

The event served as a valuable opportunity to share a concrete vision for the program. Participating students expressed a strong interest in studying abroad, clearly inspired by the presentations and discussions throughout the day.
