On March 26, Kanazawa University, in collaboration with Kanazawa College of Art, held a "Drawing Exchange Event" as the second installment of the "Noto Motto" Noto Reconstruction Support Event at the University Consortium Ishikawa Noto Branch Office in the Noto Satoyama Airport Terminal Building. This event was planned with the aim of providing educational and psychological support through drawing to junior and senior high school students in the Noto region who are interested in art. On the day, 16 junior and senior high school students and 15 students studying art from Kanazawa University and Kanazawa College of Art enjoyed a fun time interacting while drawing together.
After the self-introductions, the student instructors gave a lecture on the basics of drawing, such as how to create a composition and how to express shadows. The participants then split into two groups, plasterwork drawing and life drawing, and practiced drawing. The student instructors carefully instructed each participant, with demonstrations, and the participants worked diligently with serious expressions on their faces. In a review after the drawing, the students were seen giving advice based on their own experiences. Finally, the participants all viewed the drawings they had made, and the event came to a close.
Participants commented, "It was a valuable experience for me to interact with university students. I would like to participate again if I have the chance", "It was my first time to draw, but I enjoyed drawing with the kind advice I received. It was fun to try it out!"
